The Color Run 2013.

HERE’S PART 1: The Color Run claims it’s the happiest 5k on the Planet… well I would definitely concur. This is the second time I have shot the infamous Color Run and it was even better than the first. Travis, The Color Run CEO & Founder, hired me to come back this year’s run to snap shots for their marketing. The shots shown are the first 20 images I got done a couple days after the event so they had images up from Atlanta. There are a bunch more on the way, so keep an eye out if you’d like to see even more images from the run.

If you see yourself in any of these images head over to my facebook page and tag yourself, click here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.580355468665141.1073741826.182750358425656&type=1&uploaded=22

MORE PHOTOS AFTER THE PAGE BREAK!

Little Update: This is me, LEFT: Right after the race. RIGHT: After the after party! 😀 Below is my gear minus my 5D mkII because that’s what I used to take the picture. For those photographers and gear nerds, I used a Canon 5D Mark II w/ a Canon 20mm f/2.8, Canon 50D w/ a Canon 200mm f/2.8, and a Canon 30D w/ a Canon 50mm f/1.4. The lenses had cut black trash bags around them, taped with electrical tape (I didn’t have any gaffer tape). It held up the whole time and saved me cleaning time in the end. Yes, you lose the ability to manually focus, so know how to auto focus well! Yes, the clean up took a little time, but it was satisfying. I heard a lot of people talk about their opinions on me and my gear, some on the internet and mostly at the run. I just want to offer a word of encouragement to those aspiring to be professionals photographers. (Not that I have a lot to offer) Do not be afraid of getting the shot because you are afraid of what will happen to your equipment, because you’re afraid you don’t have permission, or  because of blah blah blah, you get the point. So what if you have to clean your gear? So what if you get kicked out of a show or off property or the cops threaten to take your CF cards. Get the shot! The ones that matter. Most of the time your gear makes it through great! If it gets a little damaged, go get it fixed at CRJ or somewhere. Yes it cost money, I’m not rich, sponsored, or have a silver spoon. Just know your gear, shoot with it till you know what it can and cannot take. So, be apart of what you are shooting. Be willing to give it your all, like every shoot is one of the biggest you’ve shot. Be respectful, be kind, but be tenacious and courageous. I would never say my images are the best, but I will say I never give up and will always try my hardest to get something that my clients would be proud to show to the whole world. After all, this is for something bigger than myself. Go do your job, get dirty if need be, and have joy in your job every day, even when it gets hard.
