Tenth Row
Those of you who know me personally or have worked with me for a while may have met an Assistant of mine by the name of Kevin Scheidt. Kevin was a good friend and the most amazing assistant. He passed in the Spring of 2016. Kevin was an awesome photographer and artist. He played in a band called Tenth Rowand one of our running jokes was I was gonna come out and shoot a show and he’d decline as if wasn’t a good idea. I never was able to actually make it to one of his shows but out of tribute to Kevin, his best friends and band mates played one last show in his memory with other friends stepping up to the mic to also pay respect, but most notably his girlfriend Jessica. Well she killed it, so much so that 2 years later they put out a new record with her on vocals. I came out to their release show to shoot a few portraits and live shots. I decided to shoot it all film. The portraits were Cinestill 800T 120mm. The live shots were Kodak TMax 3200 35mmpushed a stop. The lighting in the venue was pretty terrible and I shot with out any flash or strobes, hence the pushed stop but the graininess of the 3200 film brought a hint of old shots of punks in CBGB’s.
