This is definitely not enough to sum up this year. To be honest with you, I knew 2013 was going to be a big year, but I had no idea it was going to be this big. The Number 1 thing I knew was coming was me getting engaged to the most daggum beautiful girl on this planet, Mattie. There is an entire story behind this picture (and the others) so if you want to hear about it ask me. But so sum it up in a beautiful way, I quote Big Fish, “Sometimes the only way to catch an uncatchable woman… is to offer her a Weddin’ Rang.”
Some of you know I do contract work with a commercial studio in Atlanta called Pix House. Unfortunately I have to work to post from all the days I was there this year but I have to mention how much they impacted my life this year and how I am so beyond excited for the future and my future with this company.
The rest is simply an honor and unbelievable and I’m only hitting SOME highlights of the people I got to work with this year. Below you will see work I did for Adidas/Roundhouse Productions with Dikembe Mutombo, Oberto Beef Jerky, Red Bull, The Color Run 5K, Bon Vivant Salon, and Philip Glass & Tim Fain for Emory University/Pomegranate Arts.
The old man in one of the last images is my Grandad. I can’t stress enough how much he means to me and the fact that he is one of the reasons I can call myself a photographer today. He first taught me hose to expose an image and develop it in a dark room. Those memories I will completely cherish forever and know I am blessed because of them.
The second to last image is of my soon-to-be bride… Can’t take her… not one dang bit. 2013 was the best year yet, but I know 2014 will be even better and each year after as I grow old with Mattie. So the last image just ends on the joy that this year ends on. She said yes to me, so I will love this girl forever. This year personally was the best. This year for business, was the best. I can’t wait to see what 2014 brings, but all I know is that it is for something more. Nothing I have done this year is completely about me or my work. I work for something much greater than myself and only hope to convey Truth, Hope, Faith, and Love. If you want to ask me about, please, Do!
There are more artists, musicians, individuals, families, and friends I wish I had time to gather and post the jobs or personal images of, but as the fashion of this year has gone, so has this week and day and I am running tight on schedule. So look out for a new website (finally!) and new work in January. And really, thanks to anyone who takes the time to read this blog, share my work, work with me, and support me in any way.
Onto the next one!
